DAIWA SALTIGA SL JIG
The new DAIWA SALTIGA SL JIG 280gm shot for the Daiwa Australia 2024/25 catalogue.
The 2024 Daiwa Saltiga range was indeed a monumental project, reflecting years of meticulous design and development led by Taka Kawasaki from Daiwa Australia. The vast range of jigs now available across Australia and New Zealand.
Capturing thousands of jig images was a massive undertaking, requiring every jig to be photographed from both sides in standard colour and UV. The need to maintain consistency in size, angle, and colour across the entire range added another layer of complexity. Ensuring that the vibrant colours and intricate metallic elements were accurately preserved in each image.
This process involved the use of precise lighting setups to control reflections and highlights, as well as detailed post-production work to ensure the final images truly reflected the quality and craftsmanship of the jigs.
Daiwa quote –The Saltiga SL Jig was developed for use in areas of high current where ease of jig movement is important. The SL jig displaces water with little resistance and as a result minimising drag, making it ideal for use at all depths. The intricate shape design contributes to the jig’s ability to deliver stable jerks and falls, even in the face of strong currents or a fast drift.
The SL jig has a rocking action on the fall to allow predators the time to strike between jigging movements. The SL Jig is extremely versatile in its action and is perfect for fishing for both pelagic and demersal species thanks to the ability to excel with both a slow and high pitch retrieve!
