HALCO TWISTY DEEP DIVE

HALCO TWISTY
The Halco Twisty is a heavy metal lure, not the ideal subject for underwater dive photos. This one was a real challenge, the small size and heavy weight made this lure sink so quick that is was difficult to get the shot, not only the speed but also so the hook, split rings and body are perfectly aligned. A few trial runs on getting the right diving angle and the rest is up to the flash system to freeze the action and your trigger finger on the remote
For this I used a deep vertical tank, three light setup, black reflector and all the lights off in the studio so its dark, only relying on the modelling light on the Godox AD600 Pro for some visual light. Triggering the shot took the collaboration of a Godox X-Pro and a Nikon WR-10, plus hand eye co-ordination to get the lure and bubble trail in the shot.
