SPLASHDOWN. HOBIE EYEWEAR MOJO FLOATING POLARIZED SUNGLASSES
Mirror lens sunglasses present many issues with reflection, more challenging than almost any metallic object. Shoot them underwater in motion and then its even more of a challenge. Though you could shoot them separately and create a blended image, that’s not my style, I personally always want to get the photo in one shot even if it takes many attempts and hours. This shot was many attempts!
For this I used a deep tank, four light setup, hand painted background, a few mirrors and all the lights off in the studio so its dark, only relying on the modelling light on the Godox AD600 Pro for some visual light. Triggering the shot took the collaboration of a Godox X-Pro and a Nikon WR-10, plus hand eye co-ordination to get the splashdown.
